Shalawam Family,

It has been much longer than I expected but here I am. I have had some challenges that have kept me from blogging but I am writing in hopes that I can encourage others to just hang on. Things happen that are out of our control but we can control our reaction to the things that occur. I had to reflect on my Let It Go and Let It Go (Part 2) entries because I am once again in a pinch. Not sure how I am going to make all of my ends meet but I know that He is faithful and He always comes through for me somehow and some way. I just have to believe, trust, and depend on Him even though it appears as if my situation is completely hopeless. I just want to encourage all of you because I know that most of us have been there through trying and hard times. During some seasons if it’s not one thing it’s another but it rains on the righteous as well as the unrighteous and the Lord is just. He has been so patient with me my whole entire life and the very least I could do is wait patiently on Him. It gives me a lot to think about and a few scriptures to meditate on that I will share below. Have a blessed evening in the Most High, keep the faith, and seek His face always.

Shalawam & Barak Atham,

Matthew 5:45 (KJV)                                                                                                                          That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)                                                                                                                                For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

Matthew 28:20 (KJV)

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Let It Go (Part 2)

Shalom Family,

Last week I revealed that I have been having some financial struggles as of late. Instead of taking matters into my own hands, I simply let go. I prayed and allowed God to work on my behalf. Praise the Father everything worked out perfectly! I was able to get an extension on my utilities when I thought I would be in the dark. I had just enough money to get myself to work for the rest of the week, and I had a place to lay my head and food in my stomach. To God be the glory! All I had to do was let go. It feels so good to allow my Heavenly Father to take care of me. He granted the favor and resources that I needed. He is my protector, my strength, and my provider who supplies all of my needs. Trust in Him, Believe in Him, and depend on Him. Please be encouraged and seek His face daily.

19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25

Let It Go

Shalom Family,

I have been going through some trials, tests, and tribulations as of late but the most High reminded me that He is always in control. I have more bills than money right now (among other things), and I am not exactly sure how I am going to make ends meet, but I know that He is faithful and he has never let me down. I was 2 seconds from getting a payday loan, but my Heavenly Father is always telling me to Be Still. He says,”Trust in Me, Depend on Me, Believe in Me.”

Sometimes when you are a naturally type A personality you have to constantly try to fix every problem you have instead of patiently waiting on the Lord. What a big mistake; it is called leaning unto your own understanding. I have often prayed about a thing or two, and instead of giving my Heavenly Father a chance to move I jump right in with my carnal solutions creating a bigger problem for myself than I had in the first place. I have another example, being in an argument with a significant other and going so far to prove a point that no good comes of it, or filing a complaint about poor customer service in such a hasty fashion that you report the wrong location. These are just a few examples of leaning unto my own understanding that went totally wrong.

I also have a few examples of the total opposite. I was falsely accused of wrongdoing at work, and instead of defending myself, I went into a private office and prayed. After receiving wise counsel, I called HR and calmly provided my side of the story and then, I waited. I waited about a month (without pay) for the investigation to take place and I was exonerated. I didn’t worry about my bills or what I was going to do; I just let it go and let the most High handle it. He sent a sister in Christ and her husband to me at the right time during that suspension, and they covered all of my bills. All Praises to the Father! Now under normal circumstances, I would have been frantic and tried everything humanly possible to fix it. But at that moment I had a peace that surpassed all understanding. That was the first time I can recall letting go. Another example is when my significant other was berating me for no reason of my own. I had a terrible habit of feeling the need to defend myself. But at that particular time, I took a few deep breaths and prayed, “Father, please help me to let it go, take this feeling away from me.” I was able to sleep that night without malice or anger in my heart. I didn’t even receive an apology but I was at peace, and I was okay because I immediately gave the Father my problem. He is so faithful, loving, merciful, and kind I couldn’t ask for a greater God. So whenever I get into situations like the one I am in today, I have to be reminded of His Faithfulness. I will Trust Him instead of trusting in myself because He has everything under control.

Be encouraged Family. May the most High bless and keep you in His Holy hands. To God be the glory! I will come back with a Part 2 to tell you how it works out this time most High willing.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. Psalm 84:12

26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6

37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Health: Bronchitis

Shalawam Loved Ones,

It has been far too long since I have posted and I will not make that a habit. I just wanted to come to you all today with a few health tips for those suffering from Bronchitis (or those who know of someone who is dealing with it). As of late, a few of my sisters in Christ have come down with Bronchitis.

According to WebMD, Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lungs that some people call a chest cold. It can be a miserable, but minor, illness that follows a viral illness like the common cold — or may follow a more serious condition like a chronic smoker’s hack. Bronchitis can also be caused by exposure to smoke, chemical irritants, or bacteria.

To treat this condition: I ordered a diffuser from Puritan Pride online for only $4.95, I placed Eucalyptus Oil and Tea Tree Oil in the diffuser near the bed for 3 or 4 nights and my loved one was 100% better. Praise the most High for His healing and natural plant based remedies. If you smoke, STOP as that will be very helpful as well. Avoid all dairy products (dairy produces mucus in the body), and take supplements such as Echinacea & Vitamin C.

I just wanted to explain a few things concerning language. There are some people who are uncomfortable with things that they are not familiar with.  I simply ask that as you read my blog that you keep an open mind as you may notice that I will be using multiple languages in my writings. I love language and I love learning about different languages and cultures. If there is a word you don’t understand, and if I should happen to forget to explain the meaning please feel free to ask.

Guilt, Shame, & Casting Your Care

There are many people who are stuck in the past. They just cannot get past the fact that the Most High God loves them and loves them unconditionally. It doesn’t help much when there are people that constantly throw your past up in your face. I myself am a full grown woman and every single time I am around my Dad’s former colleague, she brings up past drama from when I was in high school. It is almost as if the enemy (satan) uses her to press every button I have to see if I am serious about my relationship with God.  Fortunately for me I respect the elderly and I do not have to see her very often (as we live over a thousand miles away from one another). You see I had already been forgiven for my transgressions all those years ago. I made peace with both of my parents, and in the midst of the madness and mayhem, God gave me peace that surpasses all understanding. I could have ended up anywhere, lost my mind completely, & even died as a result of all of the risks that I took. But, God had/has a better plan for me, and He sent His Son to die for me and redeem me, and I am forever grateful. The devil is a liar, and he would just love to rob us all of our joy and constantly bring up our past to make us feel guilty and ashamed in an attempt to separate us from the love of God. Please DO NOT ever believe those lies. I don’t care what you have done. Seek His Face and His forgiveness, draw nigh to Him, and He will draw nigh to you. I had so many areas that I struggled in, and while I am not perfect, I strive to be better each and every day, and sometimes I lose small battles with the flesh, but I have to get up and keep on going. We are fighting for our very souls. Please be encouraged and when you feel down, low, and depressed about your past meditate on the Word and promises of the Most High.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. – Psalm 103:12

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
 – Isaiah 1:18

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
 – James 4:8

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. – Isaiah 42:16

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
 – 1 Peter 5:7

How to combat Mold & Mildew

, ,

Shalam (Peace/Greetings)

Don’t you hate a stuffy, musty smell of mildew in your home? Ugh! No matter how clean you are or how clean you keep your home it has happened to the best of us. Instead of risking your health by doing nothing (or purchasing chemicals that will totally destroy your health) try the following: 10 drops of tea tree oil/1 gallon or less of water, put in a spray bottle shake and spray. Works well in bathrooms or where ever mold and mildew tend to grow. Use it to combat mold and mildew or as a preventative measure. This method works great for me but, how about you? Any ideas of how to keep your home mold and mildew free? Please feel free to comment and share your own ideas. A woman’s work is never done.

Changes to my Blog

Shabbat Shalom (Restful/Peaceful Sabbath)

I just wanted to briefly explain the changes. Initially my Hebrew name was Amina (faithful, trustworthy) but because of my personality and history (of not really being grounded or feeling like I had a home) I took on the Hebrew name Zipporah (bird). I have recently decided to use both and change the title of my site to Seeking His Face Daily. Because my life is in Christ and I am in a constant state of seeking the Father’s face so I felt that it was perfect. (I should have thought of that in the beginning). I am going into deep prayer about what direction I would like to go in with my platform however, I have had several ideas so far that I think you all will truly enjoy. I thank you so much for taking the time out to read my blog and also for taking this journey with me.  May the Most High Bless and keep you in His holy hands.

, ,

I have had a few bouts of loneliness these days (yes you can be married and lonely). Lonely in a room full of people. It seems that at this present time in my life I haven’t a friend in the world. My closest friends seem so distant these days and my Heavenly Father seems distant too. Sometimes God has to remove our distractions in order to get our full undivided attention. As human beings we have the tendency to make an idol out of any and everything (including ourselves). Even if I don’t feel like the Father is with me I have to push past those feelings. I know He is always with me but sometimes my flesh gets agitated by the suggestion of the enemy that the Most High has left me. It can be heartbreaking but this is why reading the Bible to study to show yourself approved is so important. For if you know what the Word of God says then you shall know the truth and it shall truly make you free. You can use the Word of God to combat satan and his lies and false feelings of depression, loneliness, and hopelessness. This lead me to a few scriptures of encouragement.

Deuteronomy 31:8 – And the LORD, he [it is] that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

2 Timothy 2:15 – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

John 8:32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Matthew 28:20-“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
